Contracting under Free Association in Brooklyn, I Art Directed and Designed the new international site for Yingli Solar. The site’s design had a few restrictions due to its international demographic and CMS platform, used for its ease of updating in-house. For starters, it needs to work in IE6. As all designers and developers know, this is the most challenging browser to work with. Utilizing progressive enhancement, the website works perfectly in IE6 all the way up to the latest and

greatest browsers. We also had to think about language with the flow and length of different characters and how that affects layout.

In the end, a beautifully simple and clean approach was defined for the first phase of the project with great response from the company and solar community. Phase 2 will introduce additional information, updated design and more enhanced user experience.
